Wednesday -rainy and dreary. Cooked beef tips,peppers and onions...yum!! Thursday-hiked witchhole with J and had leftovers. Perfect middle of the week.

Monday's Journey to Ellsworth, 4-11-11

Yes,I know this is freakishly awesome. I really dislike peeps. They freak me out. But upon arrival at Friendly's this was the first thing that I saw. Had to take a picture and send it to daddy, which he though humorous. Apparently Jody likes peeps too, what is wrong with "peep-ple". I made a funny, a very stupid funny, but a funny just the same.

2 weeks and 2 days

So last week was pretty eventful. The job fell through at Kids Peace so I had a little freak out. Thank goodness for friends. On Monday drove into Ellsoworth to gve J a ride home. It was nice to get off the island. We ate at Friendlys and went to Walmart. I know sounds so exciting, right? But sometimes its the actual doing little and normal things with friends that are the most fun. I love being able to ride in the car and just turn up the radio and sing, which is exactly what I did and i even got a tip:) On Wednesday Kincaid took me a scooter tour of Bar Harbor. And eneded up with horrid blisters on both feet. After stewing about the job all week, Jody took me on a walk around the Tarn on Thursday so I could clear my mind. It was good to get all of the anger out and to let someone actually let me be super angry with out judging me at all. We saw the otters swimming around and froze our butts off but it was great. It was definately what I needed to get some perspective. Later that night Colleen and I colored her hair and just hung out. Friday and Sturday , Colleen and I watched the Kincaid and Will. We had a good weekend and went to Sand Beach , had taco night , pasta night , went to Cadillac Mountain, and took Ruby on several walks :) On Sunday after taking the boys to Sand Beach I went and met Jody on the Shore Path to enjoy the sunshine. We sat on the rocks and watched ducks and the "supposed" harbor seal that J thought he saw. After hangin out for a while we went to Hannaford and picked up some stuff for dinner. We met everyone back at the house and made breakfast. It was yummmmmm. Afterwards Kathy, Allen< Colleen, Kincaid and I went for a full moon stroll on Shore Path. Yesterday I just took care of some stuff around the house and sat on the rocks on the path to enjoy the sunshine.

One Week and One Day

so I've been here for a week and a day... and so far Ive done a lot of hiking. So far I've hiked Beehive, Kebo, Gorham, Great Head Trail, and the Great Meadow Loop. We've had a couple of family dinners which have been fun. Last night we went to Rosalie and Will's house and had Shepards Pie, a first for me, egg rolls and cake and rhubarb cobbler. Then we played apples to apples, which is so fun. Last Wednesday J and I hiked Great Head and the water was so blue and so choppy. It was beautiful. The white caps were awesome and I couldnt believe how hard thewaves were crashing. This past weekend the weather was awesome which meant more hiking...So Saturday morning hiked beehive with Jody. It was awesome, no wind at all and when we got to the top the water was so calm. It was beautiful. We had coffee and cookies at the top, we even had spray whipped cream, he had put in his back pack. On the way back we checked out Thunderhole and the otters at the Tarn. Later we ended up going off island to walmart and renys and the llbean outlet. afterwards that afternoon we met up with Kathy and hiked kebo. It was a pretty nice hike, still some ice on the trail. The next morning, kathy and jody and i headed out at 530 to hike Gorham mountain. This morning it rained so no walk around the loop. Colleen, Kathy and I just walked down west and shore path. Finally stopped raining so about to take another walk.....im starting to sense a theme...

Lots of cleaning in order to move. Which lets face it is a downer. I am not naturally a tidy, organized person. My packing consists of just throwing everything into a suitcase or box. I really am trying to do better and have this trip a little more streamlined.

Now the big question....to take or not to take all of my books...I really love my books and cant seem to wrap my brain around buying a kindle or any other type of e-reader. I like to have the physical book. But lugging around, lets face it, a LARGE number of books, does not sound super fun.

27 Days

27 Days till I head back North. Boy i never thought I'd be saying that. I am very excited though. It sucks leaving my family but they are only a plane ride away. I started packing today and have found thatI have an absurd number of shoes and underwear. I think i could be fine for several months with both. That is ridiculous! I also went through all of my clothes and ended up with like 4 bags of give away clothes. Fresh start deserves a few new clothes.

Restarting blog

I've always sucked at keeping journals or anything like that. However, I'm gonn try this blog thing again. On my last trip to Maine I went on a job interview. They offered me the job! Now I'm leaving for Maine the last week of March.

Grandmother is now in hospice and I guess its just a matter of time. Came straight to hospice after leaving the airport. More updates later.
